dartmouth alums get a lot of flack for being really passionate about our alma mater. and yes - compared to some schools - it is kind of ridiculous. but one school puts our love for our alma mater to shame - michigan
my boss and our vp of sales both went to michigan. yesterday we had an interview in our office with maejor ali (of 'lolly' fame. side note - good song) who is also a michigan alum. me, our vp of sales and my boss were in a meeting across the hall from the interview and the meeting stopped while all three of them high-fived and talked about where they lived on the michigan campus. and they say dartmouth alums are crazy.
another amusing dartmouth/michigan story - a few weeks ago i was up in hanover for the fall alum council meeting and president hanlon was speaking. i asked him a question about all the negative press dartmouth's been receiving lately and he said the he didn't really understand it - he had been back to michigan's campus a few weekends ago for a football game and there were 50,000 students getting 'shit faced' (direct quote) in full view of the town of ann arbor and no one wanted to write an article about that!
